THE PHENOMENON OF MOTOR OIL AND FUEL CONSUMPTION

Have you ever asked yourself what happens to the motor oil in your car or why at times your car needs more fuel? Some of these questions are easy to answer, others require longer and complex explanations. However, one thing is certain – motor oil is indispensable for all engine components to work smoothly and without causing wear. Since engine components have not been constructed to create a 100% seal between oil and gases, this leads to a permanent consumption of motor oil. Other causes for increased moto roil consumption may range from ordinary wear to serious technical problems. Poor fuel quality can also be the cause of the latter. Depending on where you live, the degree of contaminants in fuel may vary tremendously, restricting important tasks in the combustion process.

Cleaning the injectors and valves will help to reduce the fuel consumption

Therefore it is very important to clean these highly sensitive engine components, and the fuel injectors in particular. As these deposits build up on your fuel injectors, they will start to malfunction leading to a change the characteristics of the fuel mist into your engine.  Fuel that is poorly mixed with the intake air due to a poorly flowing injector is more difficult to ignite and burns less efficiently than well blended fuel leading to increased fuel consumption. This insufficient burning process leaves even more carbon deposits on the injectors. In the worst case, this may lead to the injector being completely blocked and an entire breakdown of the system. A Gasoline System Cleaner will release contaminations that accumulated in the fuel and injection system, if it´s simply added to the fuel in the tan. The fuel is well mixed with the intake air, burns efficiently leaving less deposits.

Cleaning the air intake system lowers the consumption of motor oil and fuel

But the air intake system also contaminates from the exhaust gases flowing back from the crankcase breather and the exhaust gas recirculation system. This leads to enormous deposits on the intake side of the engine leading to an increase of pollutant emissions as well as increasing fuel and motor oil consumption. The problems contamination brings about are diverse – ranging from a defective exhaust gas recirculation valve to poorly closing intake valves.  The driver will experience the compression loss that occurs as a loss of engine power.

Cleaning the oil system before an oil change controls oil consumption and restores engine power

But what can happens if you do not clean the oil system before the next oil change? Old deposits need to be dissolved and washed away – otherwise they contaminate the new oil leading to a decrease of the new oil´s lubricity and performance. This means for instance that the piston rings will not be able to fully car out their main role: they can no longer ensure sealing between the combustion chamber and crank case during an operating cycle. Motor oil can escape from the crankshaft housing directly into the combustion chamber and burn along there. As a result motor oil consumption increases. Looking at the problem the other way around – blow-by gases can pass from the combustion chamber into the crankcase lowering the viscosity of the oil; the result is oil dilution. Oil dilution is very dangerous – in the worst case it can lead to a break in the lubricating film leading to complete engine damage!

Save time and money – use the right product combination

Generally, it is very tedious to maintain the addressed engine parts. Just reaching them and let alone cleaning the contaminated parts requires a lot of time, patience and effort. Mechanics usually dismantle and clean the complete component, then reinsert it and re-calibrate it. Quite often it is necessary to replace the old components completely. This requires a lot of time and money and creates additional stress for the environment. However, there is a way for well-equipped workshops and car enthusiasts to save these costs and contribute to protecting the environment

A few easy-to-use and cost-effective products will help you to save a lot of time and minimize the dangers described above with little effort. Therefore, before carrying out an oil change, we recommend a few essential precautionary measures. With a few easy-to-use and cost-effective products, you can save a lot of time and minimize the dangers described above with little effort. However, before undertaking an oil change, you should take into account a few essential precautionary measures. BIZOL Oil System Clean + o90 dissolves old oil residues, new oil retains its chemical properties for a longer period, friction between engine parts is reduced and an increase in motor oil consumption is avoided. This additive is given to the oil immediately before the oil change. BIZOL Gasoline System Clean + g80 cleans the fuel system including injectors and valves. As a result the well blended fuel burns efficiently leading to less deposits making fuel saving possible. BIZOL Gasoline Intake Clean + c36 removes residues in the air intake area, allowing the engine to breathe again.

Car leaking coolant: causes, symptoms and best solutions

Driving is a blend of exhilaration and convenience, but sometimes, your trusty car can hit a snag. One of the most frustrating issues is a coolant leak.

Coolant, often referred to as the versatile 'antifreeze,' assumes the uncelebrated role of an automotive guardian, ensuring your engine's harmonious operation. This unassuming fluid stands as a bulwark against the scorching summer heat and the bone-chilling cold of winter. Nevertheless, when the vigilance of antifreeze wanes, and it embarks on an unauthorized journey beyond its confines, ominous troubles come into view.
