STOPPING COOLANT LEAKS THE EASY WAY

What happens when the cooling system overheats

Oh no, what’s that? Steam is billowing from the engine bay! Immediately you ask yourself, how much is it going to cost to repair? When the cooling system overheats or the radiator springs a leak, yes, it is annoying, but doesn’t have to cost a fortune to repair.

Repair or replace?

Before opting to replace components, why not opt for a simple low-cost solution? Reach for BIZOL Radiator Repair+ r71, a quick and reliable cooling system leak repair additive, suitable for use in all vehicle cooling systems. The additive finds minor leaks wherever they are, not just in the radiator but the entire cooling system, then seals them safely, no clogging, no fuss, no sweat.

Prevention is better than cure

BIZOL Radiator Repair+ r71 can be used preventatively, i.e., before it comes to a breakdown. If you have to add water regularly or drops of coolant keep appearing under the car then there is a problem. If you don’t fix the problem it will develop and could bring the car to a standstill at some point in the near future.

Hint: If the carpet is damp in the footwells or you can smell the odour of coolant when the heater is switched on, it is highly likely that the heater matrix is leaking. Replacing it is usually a complex, expensive job and no fun at all. But BIZOL Radiator Repair+ r71 could cure the leak without all that work, saving a big repair bill in the process.

But how do I stop the leak?

Make sure there is enough coolant in the system and then just pour the contents of the tin into the radiator or expansion tank.

Safety first!

Before attempting any work on the cooling system, you must wait for the system to cool down. If, for example, the engine has boiled over, wait at least 15 minutes for the steam to clear. The fluid in the system must be allowed to cool before it is safe to commence work.

The cooling system is a pressurised system. This is why you must never remove the pressure cap before pressure in the system has dissipated, regardless of whether there is a leak or not. If you remove the pressure cap when the system is hot, the coolant can spray out and cause severe scalding!

If the coolant level is low, fill the cooling system to just below the maximum mark and pour in the contents of the tin.

Start the engine and let BIZOL Radiator Repair+ r71 do the hard work. Replace the pressure cap, start the engine and allow it to idle for 10-15 minutes. Then switch off and let the cooling system cool down again. Check the coolant level when the engine is cold, make sure there is enough coolant in the system and adjust as necessary.

Fixing minor leaks with BIZOL Radiator Repair+ r71 is child’s play.

Car leaking coolant: causes, symptoms and best solutions

Driving is a blend of exhilaration and convenience, but sometimes, your trusty car can hit a snag. One of the most frustrating issues is a coolant leak.

Coolant, often referred to as the versatile 'antifreeze,' assumes the uncelebrated role of an automotive guardian, ensuring your engine's harmonious operation. This unassuming fluid stands as a bulwark against the scorching summer heat and the bone-chilling cold of winter. Nevertheless, when the vigilance of antifreeze wanes, and it embarks on an unauthorized journey beyond its confines, ominous troubles come into view.
