Is the expensive replacement of defective components always necessary?
Why should I clean the radiator? Pollutions that stress the cooling system
Especially on hot summer days, the cooling system in the car is put under a lot of strain. High temperatures, long-distance journeys on holiday or a lack of cooling air due to traffic jams or stop-and-go traffic are a challenge for the cooling systems. In the worst case, thermal overload can lead to engine damage. This is because as the temperature rises and the engine oil viscosity drops, which leads to problems with component lubrication. This is why you should regularly keep your radiator clean. There are many possible reasons for the temperature warning indicator in the cockpit to flash when the engine is overheating:
Possible causes when the temperature warning indicator flashes in the cockpit
Component damage as a factor in the lack of cooling
- poor power supply to the fan and water pump due to the V-belt slipping
- defective fluid coupling does not drive the condenser fan
- faulty thermostat prevents the cooling circuit from opening
- damaged thermo-switch or broken fuse of the electric fan
Careless maintenance as a reason for inadequate cooling
- deposits of lime and rust hinder heat dissipation
- missing coolant
- leaks in the cooling system
- dirty radiator system
- trapped air in the cooling system
Simply and cost-effectively a clean cooler for optimal cooling
In contrast to time-consuming and expensive replacement of defective components, low-cost maintenance measures are often very effective in eliminating errors in the cooling system. In addition to topping up the coolant and removing air from the cooling system, it is often sufficient to clean the radiator grid of road dirt or flies. To do this, clean the net carefully with compressed air in the opposite direction to the direction of travel or carefully with a medium-hard brush. Leaks caused by old, porous hoses or loose fastening clamps can be quickly and easily remedied by replacing the hoses and tightening the fastening clamps.
BIZOL Radiator Clean+ r70 is effective for trucks, buses and motor vehicles
To avoid lime and rust deposits in the cooling system, regular cleaning with an additive is important. Additives such as BIZOL® Radiator Clean+ r70 help very effectively. BIZOL® Radiator Clean+ r70 contains special, gentle cleaning agents for the entire cooling circuit. The special cleaning molecules effectively dissolve oil and lime deposits, but still have no negative effect on the radiator and seals. BIZOL Radiator Clean+ r70 is suitable for cleaning the entire cooling system in motor vehicles, trucks and buses. However, a complete change of the coolant should take place every two years at the latest.
